Why people come in
The situations we hear most often
- Low back pain that keeps coming back to the same spot.
- A back that locks up when you wake and loosens through the day.
- Pain that shows up after hours of sitting, at a desk or behind the wheel.
- A lumbago that hit all at once, lifting or twisting.
- Stiffness that makes you avoid things: bending, lifting, running.
The exam
What gets looked at on the first visit
- An interview about your health and about what brings you in.
- A posture analysis.
- An orthopaedic and physical exam.
- A first chiropractic adjustment.
Pain tells you where. The exam looks for why.
What comes next
The care plan, and what you do on your side
Once the exam is done, Dr. Occean explains what she found and gives you a care plan built around your goals. Adjustments are gentle and progressive, and there is almost always something to do on your side: stretches, an exercise, a habit to change one at a time.
Worth knowing
- The first visit includes the full exam: that's where we find out whether your back is a chiropractic matter or something else.
- No result is promised, and the number of visits depends on what the exam shows.
Questions
Two questions that keep coming up
Should I wait for it to pass before coming in?
Pain that keeps returning to the same spot rarely sorts itself out. The exam is there to see what's going on before it settles in.
I've already had X-rays, is that useful?
Yes. Bring what you have: reports, images, notes from another professional. It's part of the picture.
